Pastor Sam Simoes of South Weymouth Church of the Nazarene

Lead Pastor

Rev. Sam Simoes

Pastor Sam is the Lead Pastor of South Weymouth since June 2011. Originally from Portugal, Pastor Sam has been involved in church plants in Ohio, Missouri, Kansas, and overseas in the island of Madeira, Portugal. Before taking the role of Lead Pastor at South Weymouth he pastored in Grafton, West Virginia. Holding a MDiv from Nazarene Theological Seminary in Evangelism and a B.A. from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in Religion and Sociology, Pastor Sam has been in full time ministry since 2003, being Ordained in 2005 as an Elder. Through Ministry, Pastor Sam and his family have experienced a move from the established church to the community relevant church, he is focused on the social transformation of the community through the church. We Welcome Pastor Sam and his family to South Weymouth Church of the Nazarene and wish them a blessed ministry in South Weymouth, Massachusetts.

Pastor Dave Cook, South Weymouth Church of the Nazarene

Executive Pastor

Rev. David Cook

Pastor Dave has been on staff at South Weymouth since 1998. He earned a B.Sc. in Christian Education and a B.A. in religion from Bethany Bible College in Sussex, New Brunswick, Canada before becoming the pastor of a church in the Albany, NY area. Since that time he has served as a missionary aboard the missionary ship MV LOGOS in 12 countries, then teaching in a christian school and being an Associate pastor in New York state. At South Weymouth Dave works primarily with the leadership of the Adults ministries: including men’s, women’s, Sunday School, and Bible studies, although he gets to help out at times with college, teens, children and music ministries. His interest for any age group is that everyone becomes involved in a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and more connected with each other.

 

Children’s Ministries Director

 Eva Neil

Eva Neil is our part-time Children’s Ministries Director. Eva is also currently employed at Eastern Nazarene College where she has worked since 2001 in the fields of development research and educational advising. She grew up in a small town in southern Michigan and graduated from Eastern Nazarene College in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Eva has also worked in the fields of journalism and child care. Besides spending time with her family, she immensely enjoys music, reading, and a variety of outdoor activities. Eva’s passion is to be used by God to foster the forgiveness and hope of Jesus Christ in the hearts and lives of the children He loves so deeply.

Administrative Assistant

Mrs. Christine Galbraith

Christine Galbraith assumed the responsibilities as Administrative Assistant at South Weymouth Church of the Nazarene in June of 2007. Previously, Christine worked primarily in the field of education at Eastern Nazarene College and the Weymouth Public Schools. Her passion for missions has led her to be involved with children’s missions at SWN for almost 20 years. She loves music and enjoys participating in the annual Easter musical and supporting her husband David, who serves as the Creative Arts Director at SWN.

Dave Galbraith, Creative Arts Director of South Weymouth Church of the Nazarene

Creative Arts Director

Mr. David Galbraith

David has been the music Director at South Weymouth since September 1992. He grew up in Pittsburgh, PA and went to college at Eastern Nazarene College where he received a degree in Music Education. After graduating from college, David has been involved in both the Salvation Army and the Nazarene church directing choirs and bands, teen and children’s choirs, musical presentations, arranging music, and leading small musical groups. He believes in part-time lay ministry discipleship and found that on staff at South Weymouth Nazarene Church.
